F Grade

The Oakland A’s have an overall grade on this season so far of an F. Along with having the worst record in baseball, they also have a tough schedule which started last week against the Blue Jays. After playing Toronto, their next three serieses, in this order, are the Astros, the Rangers and then Houston once again. Although they surprisingly took two out of the three games from the Toronto Blue Jays, they have only won three of their last ten games and have only won a grand total of 28 games on the season. It is entirely possible that in these next nine games they lose six or seven of them. They are throwing out their best pitcher, however, for their first game against the Houston Astros. Paul Blackburn has been one of the few bright spots for this Oakland Athletics team this season as he has a record of 6-3 with an ERA of 2.90 and a WHIP of 1.16. That is one of the best eras in all of Major League Baseball, and despite that, the A’s still rank 23rd in team ERA, so that just puts into perspective what the rest of this bullpens ERA’s look like.
