The Windy City Showdown

The Chicago Cubs are making a push for the top spot in the NL Central. At 48-51, the Cubs are 6.5 games back, but have won 3-straight and 6 of their last 10 games. The Cubs are coming off a 3-1 series win over their bitter divisional rivals, the St. Louis Cardinals, and now face their hometown rivals in a short, 2-game series starting tomorrow. 

The White Sox are 4th in the AL Central with a 41-60 record. They are 12 games back from leading the division, and are not likely to see the postseason. The White Sox, unlike their Chicago counterparts, are struggling having lost 3-straight and going 3-7 in their last 10 games. 

The White Sox went 3-1 against the Cubs last season, but because of their current form, I like the Cubs in this one. The Cubs averaged 6.9 runs per game in their last 10, while the White Sox averaged just 4.4 runs in their last 10, and have allowed 61 more runs than the Cubs this season.
