The Twins have sat atop the American League Central division for just about the entire season to this point, but the Guardians have been on a tear for just about a month now, and they have closed in to just one game behind the Twins. The winner of this division will no doubt be in first place of the division, and with the key confidence that they can take the crown. The Guardians have played 27 games in the month of June, and have managed to win 13 of them, including 8 of their last 10. Cleveland is coming off its sixth consecutive series win after taking two of three games from the Los Angeles Dodgers over the weekend. The Guardians have won six of their last seven games, nine of their last 11 and 15 of their last 19. They are also 5-1 on the current nine-game road trip. 

 

But Cleveland will meet their match tonight against the Twins and starting pitcher Joe Ryan. In three career starts against Cleveland, Ryan is 2-0 with a 1.00 ERA. He has allowed two runs on eight hits in 18 innings and walked one while striking out 14.
