The Top-Two of the MLB’s Best Division Go Head-To-Head

The Orioles are 58-37 and are gearing up to take on the Rays, who are 60-38. The Orioles are just 0.5 games behind the division leading Rays. Baltimore is 3-2 against Tampa this season, averaging 3.2 runs for and 3.8 runs against. It will likely be a low scoring outing on Thursday. 

I like the under in this matchup. In 5 games, the Orioles and Rays have gone over 8 total runs two times. Tampa is one of the best defensive teams in the league, giving up just 3.9 runs per game this season, and the Orioles defense isn’t bad either, giving up 4.5 runs per game. Tampa has been great this season, but have recently fallen below their standards, winning just 3 of their last 10. Baltimore is on a streak, going 8-2 in their last 10, and will look to overcome Tampa Bay in the AL East with a series victory. It will be hard fought  though, and I’m not anticipating too many runs in this one.
