The Texas Rangers Are Falling Apart
After leading the AL West for a majority of the season, the Texas Rangers have fallen off the face of the earth. The Rangers 73-57 record looks good on paper, but after going 1-9 in their last 10 games Texas has forfeited control of the division. Over their horrendous 10 game stretch, the Rangers averaged 3.6 runs, 7.8 hits, 1.3 home runs, 6.1 runs against, and a 5.65 ERA. Texas still has the most hits in the MLB with 1217, but their pitchers are struggling mightily, having posted the 2nd-worst ERA in July (5.64).
The New York Mets are not having the ideal season. After their triumphant return to the postseason last year, it seemed appropriate to believe the Mets were turning things around. Unfortunately, that did not pan out, and at 60-71, the Mets are last in the NL East with virtually no chance to make the playoffs. Jose Quintana, who is 1-5 this season, will take the mound for New York on Tuesday. The Rangers may be struggling to win, but they remain a top-tier offense in the MLB, giving them the edge over Quintana and a middling Mets defense.
For our Rangers vs. Mets expert pick, take the Texas Rangers Moneyline (-135) on Tuesday.
