The Royals Show Their True Colors

After an impressive 7-game winning streak at the end of July, the KC Royals were looking good, but then reality set in. Since August 5th, the Royals have won just 3 games, posting a 3-7 record in their last 10. The Royals are one of the worst teams in the MLB, and while their winning streak helped keep them out of last place, they are still a bottom-of-the-barrel team who’s been bullied all season. 

The Chicago Cubs are in a tight race for the top spot in the NL Central, and have a great opportunity to close the gap in the standings with a sweep against the Royals. The Cubs are 62-58, 2nd in the NL Central (2.5 games back), 6th in the National League, and 13th in the MLB (24 games up on KC). Chicago has the 3rd-most runs in the NL, and against a shoddy Royals defense who gave up 56 runs in their last 10 games, the Cubs will feast.
