The Rangers will look to continue their great start | OSB
Phillies vs. Rangers
The Philadelphia Phillies will wrap up their opening series against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field (7:00 p.m. ET, ESPN). The Phillies will look to get a win in their series against the Rangers after losing 11-7 to them on Opening Day. Meanwhile, the Rangers will look to continue their hot start and see if their offense can continue to shine after putting up 11 runs in their first game of the season. Philadelphia will start left-hander Bailey Falter on the mound against the Rangers. Falter will try to shut down this explosive Texas offense. For the Rangers left-hander Martin Perez will try to give the Rangers another win.
Phillies Baseball
Even though the Phillies are 0-1 on the season, they are a very dangerous team with lots of superstars on their team such as Bryce Harper (who is injured), Trea Turner, J.T. Realmuto, and Kyle Schwarber. Many people have this team making into the post-season and making a deep run in there. They could pick up their first win of the season with Falter on the mound. Last season he had a 6-4 record with a 3.86 ERA. He also finished with 74 K’s last season. Look to see if they can at least pick up one win against the Rangers in this series.
So far this season after one game Alec Bohm is leading the Phillies in almost every hitting category. Bohm has a .750 batting average with 1 homerun, 3 RBI’s. Realmuto has been good leading the team with 3 hits. He has a .600 batting average on the season so far.
In their loss against the Rangers on opening day right-hander Aaron Nola started on the mound. In the first four innings of the game the Phillies offense gave him the run support he needed as they took a 5-0 lead going into the bottom of the fourth. Unfortunately, Nola crumbled giving up 5 earned runs and bringing the Rangers right back into the game. Gregory Soto came in for Nola and didn’t have his stuff either giving up 3 earned runs. After a horrible fourth inning the Phillies could never recover. The Phillies ended the game with 12 hits, actually outhitting the Rangers and didn’t have an error in the game.
Rangers Baseball
The Rangers will look to continue their great start from Opening Day in this one. Even with their ace pitcher Jacob deGrom struggling in the game their offense led the comeback and their bullpen pitched fantastic to close the game out. This is a frisky Rangers team with some real ball players in their lineup such as Corey Seager, Marcus Semien, Adolis Garcia, and Robbie Grossman. Look to see if they can get another win against the Phillies on primetime television.
So far this season the Rangers have had many of their players step up offensively. Semien, Garcia, and Jonah Heim lead the team in hits with 2 a piece. Heim and Garcia also each have a .500 batting average on the season. Grossman and Brad Miller each have one homerun on the season.
In their win against the Phillies on opening day, their ace pitcher Jacob deGrom took the hill and struggled mightily only surviving 3.2 innings. In those innings he allowed 6 hits, 5 earned runs, 0 walks, and 7 strikeouts. He got saved by the offense and the red-hot fourth inning they had. See if Matt Perez can give the Rangers bullpen a break and go deeper into the game.

Phillies vs. Rangers Prediction
I love the over in this game. Both of these pitchers aren’t great and can get rocked easily. Also, both teams have great right-handed hitters that can give these left-handers trouble. With a game on primetime I like there to be a lot of offense in this one. I think the Phillies win this game 6-4 against the Rangers.
Phillies vs. Rangers Pick: Over 8.5 Runs (-105).
