Rangers host Marlins

The Marlins have not had a good second half of the season. After going into the All Star Break leading the Wild Card teams this team has just stalled and is now fighting for their playoff lives. They are 5-5 in their last ten and 58-52 on the season. 

The Rangers are having a great season. They are atop the AL West and sit 1.5 games ahead of the Astros who are in second place. The Rangers are just 5-5 in their last ten games but they just made a huge trade for Max Scherzer to boost them. 

I like the Rangers in this one. The Rangers are clearly the better lineup coming into this game and they will certainly have the better pitcher in this game. Jon Gray is on the mound in this one who is 6-5 on the season and has a sub 3.7 ERA on the year. He also has a 1.23 WHIP. He is facing Ryan Weathers who has been absolutely horrendous this season with a 1-6 record and a 6.25 ERA. The Rangers are number one in average and runs and a ton of offensive metrics.
