The Orioles Hit Their Stride

The Baltimore Orioles lead the American League with a 74-45 record, making them one of three teams in the MLB with a win-rate above 60%. The Orioles went 7-3 in their last 10, averaging 4.4 runs, 7.9 hits, 1.1 home runs, and 3.8 runs against per game. Consistency has been the name of the game in Baltimore, and while the Orioles may not lead the MLB with the most runs or the best ERA, they rarely suffer multi game losing streaks, and they are currently on a 3-game winning streak.  

 San Diego didn’t do themselves any favors going 2-8 in their last 10, as they are now 16 games back in the NL West. The Padres averaged 3.8 runs, 8.0 hits, 0.9 home runs, and 5.9 runs against per game over their last 10, and are coming off a 1-4 loss to the Orioles on Monday. Despite allowing the fewest runs (487) in the National League, the Padres continue to lose time after time. San Diego has zero momentum, and the streaking Orioles will take advantage of their opponents lackluster play.
