The Orioles Are The Team to Beat in the AL

The New York Mets have fallen to 50-58 on the season, putting them in 11th place in the National League. The Mets are on a 3-game losing streak and after winning just 4 of their last 10 and 8 of their last 20, it’s become apparent the Mets are likely out of the playoffs. New York catches an unlucky break facing Baltimore, as the Mets will struggle to turn their season around on the road against the top-team in the AL. 

The Baltimore Orioles are leading the highly competitive AL East, as well as the American League as a whole, with a 67-42 record. Baltimore is not flashy, nor do they lead the league in any statistical category, but the Orioles know how to win. They have a great mix of young and old talent, along with excellent coaching, giving them a solid chance to beat any team in the MLB. 

I like the Orioles in this one. They are playing much better than the Mets, averaging 4.7 runs and 8.8 hits per game over the last 10 matchups, while New York averaged just 3.7 runs and 7.9 hits.
