Reeling Marlins visit Phillies
The Marlins season is over. They have lost eight straight games and nine of their last ten overall. They are now 55-79 on the season. They had the second worst August, batting percentage wise, in MLB history. Their only bright spot is Sandy Alcantara.
The Phillies aren’t playing well right now. They have lost three of their last four and six of their last ten. They are still in the thick of the Wild Card race though as they own the third spot.
Sandy Alcantara will face Kyle Gibson in this one. Alcantara is the odds on favorite to win the Cy Young as he is 12-7 on the season with a 2.36 ERA and a 1 WHIP. Gibson is 9-6 on the season with a 4.48 ERA. I would love to take the Marlins here, but they simply cannot hit. They are the worst offensive team in baseball at the moment and I can’t trust them. I rather take the under here. Sandy is incredible and will be doing everything he can to lock down the Cy Young while Kyle Gibson is good enough to limit the worst offense in baseball.
