The Diamondbacks head into this game with a home record of 33-32 and the Phillies have a road record of 33-27. The Philadelphia Phillies are currently 72-57 and are the third seed in the NL East. Over their last 10 games, they are 7-3 but they are on a two-game losing streak. Prior to this series against the Diamondbacks, the Phillies were in a three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates where they won two games. In Monday’s game, the Phillies jumped out to an early lead going up 7-0 in the fourth inning but they didn’t score for the rest of the game. Pitcher Cristopher Sanchez was given the loss after he allowed 5 earned runs in less than an inning. In this final game against the Diamondbacks, the Phillies will have Bailey Falter take the mound for them. On the season, Falter is 2-3 with an ERA of 4.41 and a WHIP of 1.24. The Phillies are currently in 9th place for the number of hits in the league with 1,107. Phillies third baseman, Alec Bohm, leads the Phillies in batting average and hits while left fielder, Kyle Schwarber, leads the team in home runs and RBIs. Alec Bohm is joined by the right fielder, Nick Castellanos, for having over 130 hits on the season. Fortunately for the Phillies, they recently got Bryce Harper back from injury. They will need him to find his pre-injury form if they want to make a push for the Wild Card and go far in the playoffs.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are currently 60-67 and are the fourth seed in the NL West. Over their last 10 games, they are 6-4 and are on a four-game winning streak. Prior to this series against the Phillies, the Diamondbacks swept the Chicago White Sox in a three-game series. In these games against the White Sox, the Diamondbacks scored 20 runs while only allowing 9. In their game against the Phillies earlier this week, the Diamondbacks were able to mount an impressive comeback and scored 6 runs in both the fourth and fifth inning to give them the lead. Catcher Carson Kelly was able to record 4 RBIs and ultimately help the Diamondbacks mount the deficit.  In this final game against the Phillies, the Diamondbacks will have Tommy Henry take the mound for them. On the season, Henry is 3-2 with an ERA of 3.25 and a WHIP of 1.27. The Diamondbacks are currently in 28th place for the number of hits in the league with 958. Only Ketel Marte and Christian Walker have over 100 hits on the season for the Diamondbacks.

For this series finale, I think the Phillies will be able to walk away with a victory. Although they have lost their previous two meetings against the Diamondbacks, their batters are much more talented and have better stats compared to Arizona. It’s clear that these two teams love to score runs against one another as they have scored 50 runs in their 4 meetings against each other.

For our expert Philadelphia Phillies vs Arizona Diamondbacks parlay, take the Phillies -1.5 and the over on 9.0.
