Royals Remain Out of Last Place But Continue to Struggle
The Kansas City Royals have the 29th-worst record in the MLB at 28-73. They have won a measly 27.7% of their games, and have been the underdogs in 94 of their 101 games this season. Against the Guardians, the Royals are 2-5, averaging just 2.4 runs and 6.1 hits per matchup with Cleveland.
The Guardians are 49-50 on the season, which is good enough for 2nd place in the AL Central, 2.5 games back of the division leading Twins. Cleveland is 4-6 in their last 10, but have a chance to close the gap on Minnesota when they face Kansas City. 22 games up on the Royals make the Guardians the undisputed favorites in this one, and while they are likely to win, the pressure of expectation can be heavy.
I like the Guardians in this one. The Royals are terrible, and after going 2-8 in their last 10, and losing 4-straight, I have no faith in Kansas City’s ability to win.
