Their opponents, on the other hand, the divisional rival Colorado Rockies, have played themselves into last place in the National League West. The final reason for the Padres being nearly three to one favorites is that they will have their ace Joe Musgrave on the mound. Musgrave has been one of the best pitchers in baseball this season, having an unblemished 6-0 record and with a striking 1.64 ERA, along with 61 strikeouts.
