Reds Surprise Dodgers with aWin in the Opener

The Cincinnati Reds took down the LA Dodgers at home on Friday, winning the opening game of the series 6-5. The Reds jumped out to an early lead after scoring 3 runs in the top of the 1st. The Dodgers nearly came back, scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th, matching Cincinnati’s total for the inning, but came up short in the end. 

The Dodgers recorded 12 hits to the Reds 8, but still lost. It was LA’s 2nd consecutive home loss, and their 19th of the season. The Dodgers remain strong at home though, recording a 61.2% win-rate at home, giving them a clear advantage over anyone who comes to Dodger Stadium. 

I like the Dodgers in this one. They are at the top of the NL West and are a top-2 team in the National League with an impressive +96 run differential. The Reds are at -5, and although they won the opener, I expect the Dodgers to redeem themselves in the next two matchups.
