The Mets are experiencing their worst slump of the season. They have lost three straight games as they dropped one to the Marlins and two to the Astros. They now sit at 47-29 on the season and only have a three game lead over the Braves in the NL East.

The Rangers are now 36-38 on the season. They could be a sneaky Wild Card team. They are coming off of a series win over the Royals. They are 11.5 games back of the Astros for first place.

I really like the Rangers in this game. The Mets aren’t playing their best baseball right now and will have to match up against Martin Perez. Perez has been great this season with a 6-2 record and a 2.22 ERA on the season. They will be facing R.J. Alvarez of the Mets. He hasn’t pitched in the majors since 2015. This Rangers offense should be able to get Perez some run support.
