Rangers Struggle To Stay Atop AL West
The Texas Rangers are slipping. They remain the best team in the AL West with a 72-54 record, but after losing 7 of their last 10 the Rangers find themselves in an intense battle for the fate of the division. Texas is slumping at the worst possible time, and after 6 straight losses, they’ve become one of the coldest teams in the MLB. The Rangers still have the most hits (1179) of any team, as well as the 2nd-most runs (708), but over their 6-game losing streak, Texas allowed 33 runs and only scored 17.
The Minnesota Twins are 65-61 and hold a 5.0 game lead in the AL Central. Minnesota has yet to face the Rangers this season, and a month ago Texas would have been the clear favorites, but after an abysmal week for the Rangers, I like Minnesota’s chances in this one. The Twins win 58.06% of their home games, while Texas only wins 50.0% of their away games. The Rangers once dominating offense has looked stagnant and they have little to no momentum coming into this matchup. It will be a close game, but the Twins will come out on top.
So for our Rangers vs. Twins expert pick, take the Minnesota Twins Moneyline at -118 on Thursday.
