Rangers look to pick up win in Philly
This is the second game in the series between these two teams. The Rangers are coming off of two wins over the defending champion Braves. One of the Rangers’ big off-season signings was Marcus Semien. Semien has completely underperformed this season. He is hitting 148 with a 224 on-base percentage and is bringing this offense down.
The Phillies are coming off of a series loss to the Mets. They are now 11-12 and third in the NL East behind the Mets and the Marlins. Their offense has really started to pick it up over the last seven games. They have averaged six runs a game over their last seven.
Zack Wheeler and Martin Perez will be pitching in this game. Wheeler has not been good this season with an ERA over 5. Perez has been decent with a 3.00 ERA. I think both of these offenses will finish within the top 10 at the end of the year. They both have star players that can drive in runs and are both facing subpar pitching.
