The Marlins are coming off of a huge walk-off win over the Mets. With two outs in the bottom of the ninth Nick Fortes hit a walk-off home run. The Marlins are now 33-38 on the season. We’ve said multiple times that this team is better than their record and hopefully we see them turn it around soon as their run differential is still +15.

The Cardinals are now 41-34 on the season. They are coming off of a loss to the Cubs. They have now fallen back behind the Brewers for first place in the NL Central.

This is a very good pitching matchup as we will have Pablo Lopez against Adam Wainwright. Lopez is 5-3 with a 2.61 era while Wainwright is 5-5 with a 3.32 era. If you look closer though you’ll see that Wainwright has given up 13 runs over his last four starts. Lopez it’s coming off of a seven-inning gem versus the Rockies where he only allowed four hits and picked up a win. I think Lopez is the hotter pitcher right now and that will bode well for the Marlins.
