Pitchers duel in New York

The Mets are coming off of a bad loss to the Cubs, who had lost nine straight games before that win. The Mets are still 58-35 on the season. They lead the NL East by 2.5 games. They have won six of their last ten games and are getting Degrom back soon. 

The Padres are now 52-42 on the season. They have been slumping lately as over their last 17 games they are 6-11. They did get some positive news though, as Fernando Tatis Jr. has been cleared to hit and will be returning soon. 

This is a great pitching matchup as Max Scherzer will be facing off against Yu Darvish. Scherzer is 6-1 with a 2.22 ERA. Darvish is 8-4 with a 3.41 ERA. I have to take the under here even though it is only 6.5. Over Scherzer’s last five starts he is 2-0 with a 1.41 ERA. Darvish has already faced the Mets this year. He went seven innings in a win and only gave up two hits and zero runs.
