Phillies look to surge in second half

The Phillies are currently at 48-41 and are 3rd in the division behind the Marlins and Braves. They are 6-4 in their last 10 and are coming off a series loss to the Marlins. They would like to start the second half of this season hot in this ultra competitive division.

The Padres did not half the first half many were expecting. They sit at 43-47 and are currently 4th in the NL West. They have won 6 of their last and start the second half away from home. The Padres will look to take advantage of their starpower and string some wins together in the second half.

The Phillies had a very strong end to the first half of the season. They are a much better team than the Padres at the moment and they will have a huge pitching advantage in this game. Ranger Suarez will be on the mound for them and he has a 3.77 ERA on the season. Ryan Weathers will be facing off against him. He has been terrible this sedona with a 1-5 record and a 6.08 ERA on the season. The Phillies are the better team and are at home here.
