Phillies look to continue winning as they host surprise Padres

The Phillies are coming off of a loss to the Dodgers but they have been playing great baseball as of late. Before that loss they had taken three in a row from the Dodgers and one from the Mariners. They are now only one game under 500 as they sit at 17-18. 

We knew the Padres would be a pretty decent team but not this good this early. They are still missing Fernando Tatis Jr. and Blake Snell. Snell looks to be coming back in the next week while Tatis is still about a month away. The Padres sit at 22-13 without them and have the third best record in the NL. Manny Machado and Eric Hosmer both look like MVP candidates at the moment. 

This Padres offense is very high-powered behind Hosmer and Machado as they are both hitting above 350 and they have combined for 47 RBIs on the season. I think the Padres will win this game as they will have Mike Clevinger on the mound who has shown promise after coming back from injury.
