Padres Primed for Wildcard Berth 

The Minnesota Twins have long been atop their division, but their time might be coming to an end. The Cleveland Guardians are currently within 1.5 games of them, and the Twins have lost their last three games, two against the Brewers and one against these same Padres. In the last game, the Padres hung ten runs on them and held the twins to only one run. So although the line hasn’t come out for this game yet, expect the Padres to be favored and by some margin. 

While the Padres don’t have an easy path to winning the division, as the Dodgers have a 12 game lead on them, It is the general consensus of the MLB public that the projects will be in the playoffs via the Wild card spot. They will get a crucial win tonight as they send out Sean Manaea to get his 6th win, and hopefully improve on his 4.33 ERA.
