Orioles Retain The AL’s Top Spot, For Now

The Baltimore Orioles are the top team in the American League, but cling to a small lead. The Tampa Bay Rays are hot on the Orioles heels, just 2.5 games behind. Baltimore is 98-59 (62.4%), and while they have clinched the Wild Card, the AL East is still up for grabs. The Orioles can take the division with a few more wins, and you can bet Baltimore will go all out against the Red Sox in their final series of the season. 

The Boston Red Sox are 76-81. They’ve been eliminated from postseason contention, which seems to have taken the wind out of their sails. The Red Sox have lost 3 consecutive games and were 2-8 in their last 10, showing little to no signs of finishing the season strong. The Baltimore Orioles are vying for the division title and will certainly have their best players on the field against an apathetic Boston Red Sox squad.
