One Must Win

Tonight we have a matchup of two teams that haven’t done a whole lot of winning recently or through the entire season. The Los Angeles Angels and Oakland A’s have been second to last and last in their division for quite some time now, and it doesn’t seem like anything will change. Lucky for both teams however, one has to get the win. The Angels are 47-63, are 5-5 in their last 10 games, and are entering off a win against the A’s on Monday. The Athletics are 41-69, are 4-6 in their last 10 games, and are on a 3 game losing streak. So before this three game losing streak, this team had actually won 4 of 7 games, a feat they hadn’t done much of at all this season. 

The Pitching matchup is set to be between Paul Sandoval of the Angels and Paul Blackburn of the A’s. Both Paul’s have ERAs of 3.41, and 4.28 respectfully, and Sandoval has a record of 3-7 compared to Blackburn’s of 7-6. Neither team has had great success behind the plate this year and expect that to continue tonight. The Athletics rank 30th in team batting average, and the Angels rank 26th in that same category.
