NL East showdown in Philly

The Braves are 58-39 on the season. They are now only one game behind the Mets in the division. They had a chance to get within half a game but they dropped a game to the Angels last night. This is a huge series as the Phillies could close the gap in the division. 

The Phillies are now 49-46 on the season. They have lost three straight games as they were swept by the lowly Cubs. That series was a chance for them to beat up on a bad team but instead they lost ground and were swept by a bad team.

The Braves are favored pretty big on the road here purely because of the pitching matchup. They will have their ace in Max Fried on the mound. Fried is 10-3 with a 2.64 ERA on the season. He will facing Ranger Suarez who is 7-5 but has a 4.07 ERA on the season. The Phillies are slumping and have to host the better pitcher and better lineup.
