NL East battle in nation’s capital
The Marlins have been one of the MLB’s most surprising teams over the first 15 or so games. They are 7-8 and rank second in the NL East behind the 12-5 Mets. They are coming off of two straight wins and a series win over the defending champion Braves. Their offense has put up 5+ runs in three of their last four games.
The Nationals are last in the NL East. They are 6-12 on the season. They have lost five straight games to the Diamondbacks and the Giants. Their offense hasn’t put up more than three runs in six games.
The Marlins are pitching their ace in Sandy Alcantara who through eight scoreless innings in his last outing. The Nationals are pitching Josiah Gray who had a shaky first start but has since settled down and only allowed one run in his last two starts. This Nationals offense cannot hit. They will be shut down by Alcantara in this game. I think Gray can limit the Nationals offense enough to hit this under pretty easily.
So for our Marlins vs. Nationals parlay take the under 7.5 and the Marlins ML
