MVP Matchup in Philly

The Padres are playing great baseball right now. They are 23-13 and second in the NL West only to the Dodgers. They have won three of their last four games. This is great as they are doing this without Fernando Tatis and Blake Snell. Manny Machado and Eric Hosmer have worked themselves into the early MVP race as they are both hitting above 345 and have combined for 11 home runs and 47 RBIs.

The Phillies have not been great this year. They are 17-19 and are tied with the Marlins for the second spot in the NL East. The Phillies have lost two in a row. 

Yu Darvish and Kyle Gibson are on the mound. Even though they are both 3-1 both of their ERAs are above 4. Both of these teams rank within the top 10 of runs scored in the MLB and I think that is not going to bode well for these pitchers.
