Must Win for White Sox
The Chicago White Sox are currently 72-69 and are in third place in the AL Central. Over their last 10 games, the White Sox are 7-3 but are currently on a one-game losing streak. They just played a series against the Oakland Athletics where they won three out of the four games they played on the road. The White Sox are not out of playoff contention but will need a lot of things to go their way if they want to make it so winning games like this will be necessary.
The Colorado Rockies, on the other hand, are currently 61-80, which is last place in the NL West. They are not statistically eliminated from playoff contention but they are pretty much eliminated. Over their last 10 games, they are 5-5 and are currently on a one-game losing streak. The Rockies are coming off a series against the Arizona Diamondbacks where they won two of the three games they played at home.
Heading into this series, they have only played two games against each other and the series is split 1-1. In this game, the White Sox will have Michael Kopech take the mound for them and Chad Kuhl for the Twins. On the season, Kopech is 4-9 with an ERA of 3.78 and a WHIP of 1.22. On the other hand, Kuhl is 6-8 with an ERA of 5.38 and a WHIP of 1.51. In both games these two have played each other, they have been close as the winner has won each game by one run. I believe the White Sox are a better team and will have the better pitcher playing. The White Sox know they need to secure wins if they want a chance at October so expect them to be locked in as they have been over their last 10 games.
For our expert pick, take the White Sox run line.
