Musgrove tries to continue Cy Young run

The Padres are coming off of a 12-5 win over the Cubs. They have been incredible this season without Fernando Tatis Jr. They are 39-24 and are now tied with the Dodgers for first place in the NL West. Tatis suffered a setback with his wrist injury so they need to continue this. 

The Cubs are having a horrible season. They have now lost eight straight games and have dropped to 23-38. They are just not a good team this season and need to rebuild. They now have the fifth-worst record in the MLB. 

Joe Musgrove will be on the mound in this game. Musgrove has been special this season with a 7-0 record and a 1.50 era. Over his last three starts Musgrove has a 0.45 ERA over 20 innings pitched. He will be facing Matt Swarmer. Swarmer has had three starts and has given up eight runs over 17 innings pitched. He is no match for Musgrove.
