Miami Marlins Fight For The Wild Card
The Miami Marlins face the New York Mets in the next series, and while the Mets need a miracle in order to see the postseason, the Marlins postseason fate is in their hands. At 78-72, the Marlins are 3rd in the NL East and 6th in the National League, giving them a 55.1% chance at the playoffs. The New York Mets on the other hand, are 69-80 putting them 4th in the NL East and 12th in the National League, 8.5 games back from the Marlins.
I like the Marlins odds in this one. Miami’s confidence is rising after their 3 consecutive wins, while the Mets morale faded as the playoffs became more dream than reality. Not to mention, the Mets are terrible on the road, posting a 30-44 (40.54%) away game record. Conversely, the Marlins are excellent at home, recording a 43-32 (57.33%) record in LoanDepot Park. True, the Marlins are 2-5 against the Mets, but since their last meeting (April, 9th) Miami has only improved, while the Mets have degraded poorly.
So for our Mets vs. Marlins expert pick, take the Miami Marlins Moneyline (-162) on Tuesday.
