The Mets are now 97-57 on the season. They have won eight games in a row and are coming off of a 13-4 win over the A’s. They really have stepped on the gas pedal and for good reason because the Braves are only one game behind them.
The Marlins season is obviously over. They are 63-90 on the season and are coming off of a bad 6-1 loss to the Nationals. They just announced that they will not be bringing back Don Mattingly for next season. Sandy Alcantara is going to win the Cy Young though.

Taijuan Walker will be facing Jesus Luzardo here. Walker is 12-5 on the season while Luzardo is 3-7 but they have almost identical ERAs as Luzardo is at a 3.57 and Walker is at 3.53 ERA. Luzardo also has an elite 1.05 WHIP while Walker is at 1.19. Despite Luzardo’s record he has been really good this season. I think both of these guys will continue to pitch well as they have a whole season of evidence backing them up.
