Mets look to keep Braves at bay against fading Phils
The Mets are now 78-43 on the season. They are coming off of two straight wins over the Phillies. They are ahead of the Braves in the NL East by only four games after dropping three of four to them. They need to pickup the pace as the Braves have won 9/10
The Phillies are in a bit of slump right now. They have lost three in a row to drop to 65-54 on the season. They still own the second Wild Card spot but are now only half a game ahead of the rest of the field.
The Mets will be starting Jose Butto in this one. He is the Mets 12th ranked prospect and will be making his MLB debut. The Phillies will have Kyle Gibson on the mound. Gibson has been decent this season with a 4.30 ERA and an 8-5 record. I like the Phillies to welcome Butto to the big leagues with a lot of runs. The Phillies need a bounceback game and a guy making his MLB debut may provide that for them. The Mets offense is one of if not the best in baseball and I think they can put up some runs on Gibson. This is the third time they will be seeing him this season and I think that will benefit them.
