Mets look to continue streaking in nation’s capital

The Mets have now won seven straight games. They are 65-37 on the season and are now a full 3.5 games ahead of the Braves in the NL East. They are four games behind the Dodgers for the best record in the NL this season.

The Nationals just traded away their best two players in Josh Bell and Juan Soto. This basically signaled the start of a long rebuild. They are 35-69 this season. 

The Mets are going to win this game, it is just a matter of by how much. They have Chris Bassitt on the mound who has been good this season with a 3.83 ERA. The Nats will start Anibal Sanchez who has been horrible with an 0-3 record and a 7.47 ERA on the season. The Mets are playing great while the Nationals just blew up their team.
