The Mets are 81-46 on the season. They own the second best record in the NL behind the Dodgers. They need to put their foot on the gas here as the Braves are playing incredible baseball right now and have cut the deficit in the NL East to just two games.
The Rockies season is over as they are 54-73 on the season. They are playing teams close but just continue to lose games. They have lost seven of their last ten games and three in a row.
I think this number is way too low. The Rockies will have German Marquez on the mound here. He has a 6-10 record and a 5.22 ERA. He also has a dreadful 1.43 WHIP. He will face Max Scherzer who is 9-3 on the season with a 2.33 ERA and a great 0.94 WHIP. I know this is Scherzer but the Mets can beat this total by themselves. Marquez gave up six runs in his last start. Plus, Scherzer has been knocked around in his last two starts. He gave up four runs in both has a 5.54 ERA over those starts.
