The game starts at 7:10 PM EST at New York’s Citi Field. The odds favor the Mets, who come in with a -1.5 runline, and the game’s O/U total is set at 8.5 runs. The expected starting pitchers are Touki Toussaint for Chicago and Justin Verlander for New York.

Mets Host White Sox For Rare AL versus NL Matchup

On Wednesday, in just their 15th all-time meeting, the New York Mets will take on the Chicago White Sox for the second game of their 3-game series. Unfortunately, neither side is having a very productive season. The Mets are 43-50, 4th in the NL East  and 18.5 games out of first place. The White Sox are 40-55, and also place 4th of their division, the AL Central, but are just 8.0 games behind the division leading Twins.  

The Mets and White Sox are evenly matched sides, and it will be a close game, but I like New York’s chances. The Mets haven’t been great at home, posting a .500 record at 21-21, but the White Sox have been terrible on the road, winning just 38.8% of their away games. The Mets also score more often and allow fewer runs than Chicago, making them the easy pick in this one.
