They are currently on a six game winning streak, and the wins have come in a huge season sweep against the Yankees, and then another confidence boosting series sweep against the bottom feeding Marlins. The Mets are getting hope once again after a slow month of June, and it couldn’t be at a better time as the Braves have been closing in on them all month, and are now on a three game winning streak for themselves. 

Their opponent for tonight, the Nationals haven’t had much good news about them besides when Juan Soto won the Homerun Derby. The Nats have played the Mets 10 times this year and have only managed to scrape away 2 wins, and have scored a grand total of 0 runs in their last two games against New York.
