The Rangers spent the most money this offseason and only sit at 18-23. They have not been very good this season. They’re playing average as of late having won five of their last 10 games. They are coming off of three straight losses to the Astros and Angels.
The A’s have the same number of wins as the Rangers would have lost four more games. They sit last in the division. They are not going to compete this year and are probably worrying more about getting fans into games than the team.
I’m not sure how the A’s are favored in this game. The Rangers have Martin Perez on the mound and he has been stellar as of late winning his last three games. His last outing was a complete game effort in which he allowed no runs. Over his last three starts he has gone 21.1 innings and has only allowed two runs. The Rangers will ride his arm to a win here.
