Justin Verlander is Back in Houston 

The New York Yankees beat the Houston Astros 4-3 in their first meeting of the season on Thursday, snapping Houston’s 3-game win streak they had coming into the matchup. All-time, the Yankees lead the series 39-30 over the Astros, but it is Houston who is favored to win on Saturday. 

The Astros are 62-48 this season, just 1.5 games behind the Rangers for the top-spot in the AL West. Winning 31 games both at home and on the road, The Astros best quality has been their consistency. Houston has a 56.4% overall win-rate, creating an exciting matchup with the Yankees, who have a 56.6% win-rate at home. 

It should be a great game, and while the Yankees won the opener, I like the Astros in this one. Houston recorded 4 more hits than the Yankees in their 3-4 loss on Thursday, but the biggest story here is Justin Verlander’s return to the Astros bullpen. Verlander is expected to start on the mound against the Yankees on Saturday, and I am anticipating a triumphant return for the 40-year old ace.
