Huge Series For The Fate of The NL West

The Arizona Diamondbacks are 57-50 and the San Francisco Giants, their bitter NL West rivals, are 58-49. With just 1.0 game separating the Diamondbacks and Giants, this series has massive implications for the fate of the NL West. 

Neither team has played very well in recent weeks however. The Giants went 4-6 in their last 10, while the Diamondbacks went 3-7. Arizona has the better offense, recording 521 runs to San Francisco’s 479, but the Giants have the better defense, allowing 456 runs to the Diamondbacks 521. 

It’s a tough one to call, but I like the Giants in this one. They are at home where they win 55.6% of the time, and while Arizona has been brilliant on the road this season, the Giants have won 7 of their last 10 home games, and will look to avenge their 3-4 extra innings loss to the Diamondbacks on Monday.
