Guardians March On

The Cleveland Guardians started off the season with a new name and started it off, not looking the way they should. This team didn’t enter the season with the betting public, having many expectations for them as they were in the middle of the pack odd’s wise to make the playoffs. That trend seems to be what played out through the majority of the first part of this season, as this team was always somewhat close to wild card contention in the early playoff picture, but never in it. That has all relatively changed as the Guardians have been one of a couple teams, has played great baseball in the month of June so far. Since June began, Cleveland has played 12 baseball games and they have won nine of them. That also includes the first game of this three game series against the Colorado Rockies that they played on Tuesday night won 4-3 in 10 innings. They entered that first game as -175 favorites, and since the Rockies put up a fight and made that a close game, it seems that that is the reason why the Guardians are slightly less favored than this one. But the Colorado Rockies have not been a good baseball team the entire season and have only put up more than five runs one time in their last eight games. The Guardians are now within half a game of that final wild card spot and will look to grab it before the All Star break.
