Gonsolin looks for 17th win
The Dodgers are the best team in baseball and it isn’t very close. They have a legitimate shot of breaking the wins record set by the Mariners in 2001. They are currently 88-38 and they have won a ridiculous 43 of their last 53 games and are the World Series favorites.
The Marlins are 55-72 on the season. They have lost seven of their last ten games and are coming off of an 8-1 loss to the Dodgers. They have one of the best pitching staffs in baseball but cannot seem to develop or trade for good MLB hitters to help this lineup.
The MLB wins leader will be on the mound for the Dodgers in this one as Tony Gonsolin is 16-1 on the season with a 2.10 ERA. He will be facing Pablo Lopez who is 8-8 on the season with a 3.66 ERA. Lopez is coming off one of his best starts as he went six innings and gave up no runs. The Dodgers have scored 41 runs over the last five games though and I think they’ll get to Lopez here who has struggled more against good offenses. The Marlins are consistently mediocre and are giving you between 2-4 runs every game no matter who the pitcher is.
