Gonsolin Gets the Start

Before a couple nights ago the Los Angeles Dodgers had won 11 games in a row and we’re looking the most dominant they had been in a while. But what ended that was when they dropped their last game to the Royals in one of the biggest upsets of the year, something that the Dodgers have been on the wrong end of this year. The Brewers are in need of a win to try to either get into the Wild card spot, or to reclaim the division lead. The Brewers dropped two of three at St. Louis over the weekend, including 6-3 Sunday in the series finale, to fall 1.5 games behind the Cardinals in the National League Central race. The Dodgers, who have the best record in baseball at 79-34 and lead the NL West by 16 games, were blanked 4-0 at Kansas City on Sunday, snapping their 12-game winning streak.

The Dodgers have by far been the hotter team, as they have been playing their best baseball as of late. It almost seems as if the news of their divisional rival Padres acquiring Juan Soto lit a fire under this Dodgers team eager to prove that they are still the top dogs in their American League Division.

Set to make the start for the Los Angeles Dodgers will be Tony Gonsolin, who has a record of 14-1 on the season. He also has a spectacular ERA of 2.24 along with 105 strikeouts. In his last outing against the Kansas City Royals on Friday, Gonsoulin gave up only one run on two hits, along with three walks over 6.2 innings pitched. He had three strikeouts in that game and earned the 8-3 victory.
