The Red Sox are having a solid season but suffer from a very competitive divsion. They sit 4th in the AL East with a 54-47 record. They have been playing decent baseball winning 6 of their last 10. If they want to chase down the rest of their division a series win here will be vital.

The Giants are having a good season but have hit a little slump. They currently sit 2nd in the NL West with a 55-47 record. They sit 3.5 games back of the Dodgers. After losing 6 of their last 8 this team wants to get back on track and take this home series.
