Dodgers Look to Make It Five-in-a-Row

The LA Dodgers are coming off a phenomenal season where they finished with an incredible 111-51 record, but failed to reach the World Series. This season, the Dodgers may not be on pace to beat their previous record, but they are leading the NL West at 51-38. LA has been solid, recording a +76 run differential, the second best in the NL, and are full of confidence after winning 7 of their last 10 before the All-Star break. 

The New York Mets recorded over 100 wins for the first time since 1986 last year, but have followed it up with a lackluster season thus far. At 42-48, the Mets are 5th in the NL East, and could easily miss the playoffs if they don’t turn things around quickly. Before the All-Star break, the Mets won 6 of their last 10, but remain 9.5 games behind the Dodgers. New York’s middling -3 run differential puts them smack dab in the middle of the National League. The Mets are nothing special, and although they are 2-1 against the Dodgers on the season, I don’t see them beating LA on Saturday.
