Cubs Could Make some noise However

Tonight, the Chicago Cubs will take on the Los Angeles Dodgers and Dodgers Stadium. At this point, the Cubs are a long shot to make the playoffs, but if they want to keep even that tiny glimmer of hope alive, they can’t afford many more mistakes. This last 10 game stretch for them has been good at keeping that small window open as they’ve won six of their last ten games, despite having to play the Brewers and the streaking Red Sox both in that stretch. This part of their season schedule has not been kind to them as you could tell by their two previous matchups and the fact that they now have to travel to Los Angeles to take on the top seed Dodgers. 

The Dodgers have a team slugging percentage of .432 and they score 5.04 runs per game (1st in the league). They have recorded 154 doubles, while taking a walk 306 times and putting up 403 runs. So it would be an understatement to say that first year right hand pitcher Mark Leiter of the Chicago Cubs, has his work cut out for him. Having a 4.85 ERA with 31 strikeouts on the season, Leiter is going to have to have a hell of a game for the dot cups to keep this one close.
