Diamondbacks Continue to Struggle In The Second Half

The Arizona Diamondbacks are 55-48 this season, but have struggled mightily after coming back from the All-Star break. In July, Arizona is 6-14 and in their last 10, they’ve won just three games. The Diamondbacks still have a shot at the playoffs despite the recent turbulence, but unless they channel the energy they showed earlier this season, Arizona could be dead in the water. 

The Seattle Mariners are a middling 52-50, but 7.5 games behind the AL West leading Rangers, the Mariners will be hard-pressed to make the playoffs this season. Seattle is 16-16 against the NL this season, but haven’t faced the Diamondbacks since 2021, when they went 4-2 against their desert opponents. The Mariners are coming off back-to-back wins over the Minnesota Twins, and will use the momentum to take down the Diamondbacks in the opener on Friday.
