Degrom looks to continue dominance
The Mets are in a very close division race right now. They are coming off of back to back wins over the Marlins. This has moved them to 89-52 on the season which gives them a 1.5 game lead over the Braves who dropped two in a row to the Mariners.
The Cubs are 58-82 on the season. They are playing horribly right now as they have lost two in a row and seven of their last ten. It does look like they have a pretty bright future though.
The Mets will have the most dominant pitcher in baseball in Jacob Degrom on the mound. Over his last three starts deGrom is 3-0 with 26 strikeouts over 20 innings and only two runs allowed. He will face Adrian Sampson. Sampson is 1-5 on the season but he has a pretty decent ERA at 3.76. I think deGrom delivers another shutout here and Sampson does enough to keep this total low.
