The Padres and Dbacks are both teams in the West Division of the National League, but aside from that similarity, not much else is the same. The Padres have a winning record of 41-27, Arizona has a losing record of 32-36. The Padres rank top 1o in hits, runs and on base percentage, compared to the Diamondbacks ranking in the bottom 3 of all those same categories. The same trend is present in the teams’ pitching. The Padres rank top 10 in every major pitching statistical category, and the Dbacks rank bottom 10 in all those same categories aside from walks where they rank 6th. 

But the Padres have not looked anything like themselves in their last three games. They were all played against the Colorado Rockies, a team in last place of their division, and yet they lost all three. The pitching match is about the only thing in these two teams that the Diamondbacks have the edge.
