Cubs Chasing The Brewers Up The NL Central
The Milwaukee Brewers have hit their stride. After winning 8 of their last 10 and posting a 16-7 record in August, Milwaukee now leads the NL Central by 4.0 games with a 73-57 record. The Brewers averaged 5.9 runs for and 4.2 runs against over their latest 10 game stretch, recording 8 consecutive wins on the way to becoming the MLB’s hottest team. Milwaukee faces a bitter divisional rival in the Chicago Cubs for the next series, and with a 4-3 record against Chicago this season, a Brewers win is certainly no guarantee.
The Cubs are 69-61 this season, and like the Brewers, Chicago is coming off an excellent 10-game stretch. The Cubs went 7-3 in their last 10 games and are 16-8 this month, matching Milwaukee’s magnificent form. Monday’s matchup will be a tightly contested affair, but I like the Cubs in this one. They get home field advantage and are coming off back-to-back 10-run games. The Cubs are feeling it at the plate and will extend their winning streak in the series opener against Milwaukee.
For our Brewers vs. Cubs expert pick, take the Chicago Cubs Moneyline (-130) on Monday.
